NOTICE OF RACE

1. Rules

The race will be sailed under the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS), the prescriptions of Irish Sailing, the rules of each class concerned and this Notice of Race except as modified by the Sailing Instructions and any amendments thereto.

2. Eligibility

The race is open to keelboats capable of sailing in open water.  Boats and crew must be properly equipped to cope with the weather and the sea state in the racing area.  Boats that normally race in DBSC races should conform to the appropriate class safety requirements.

3. Entry

Entries close on Tuesday 15th September 2020 @ 1900hrs . (Late entries may be accepted at the discretion of the Race Committee). The online entry form is available at www.dmyc.ie. The entry fee is €25, which may be paid through the online entry system or directly to DMYC.

4. Location and Schedule

The race will take place in the vicinity of Dublin Bay, extending east to the vicinity of the Kish lighthouse and south into Killiney Bay. Start and finish will located in the area of PIER Mark, Dun Laoghaire.  The course for most boats will be to the Kish light and back, weather permitting.  An alternative mark may be used if necessary. 

The first warning gun is at 10:25 on Sunday 20th September. VHF Channel 68 may be used.

There will be 3 No Start at the following Times: 1030 hrs: Class 0 and 1 DBSC ; 1035 hrs : Class 2 DBSC , 1040hrs : Class 3 DBSC plus Shipmans and Ruffians. 

5. Sailing Instructions

Sailing Instructions will be available at www.dmyc.ie at least four days before the race.

6. Handicaps and Prizes

Results for the race will be calculated using ECHO standard TCF handicaps, or equivalent. Overall prizes will be awarded for the best performance . In addition, there will be a Prize Awarded for the 1st Shipman and the 1st Ruffian.
