The DMYC is a small, friendly club on the West Pier of Dun Laoghaire Harbour. Our unofficial motto is “messing about in boats”, whether that messing about is just going out to a dive site, cruising in company to the Isle of Man, or the local club racing. Off the water, the DMYC has a full programme of events – BBQs, music nights, sailing suppers, art classes, visits from Santa, and winter lectures on a wide variety of topics including history, arts, and maritime topics. We offer audio-visual and computer facilities for lectures and training days, and can also offer catering for events.

The DMYC warmly welcomes new members, with or without boats.

The club has a long tradition of dinghy sailing and racing and is home to an active fleet of Fireballs, IDRA 14s, Lasers and Wayfarers. Dinghy parking, with easy access to the slip, is available to members for the summer sailing season and in winter for members racing in the famous DMYC Frostbite Series. The club welcomes new active dinghy sailors and parking spaces for dinghies are currently available. For experienced sailors without their own boat there are club Lasers, a Wayfarer and an Optimist available to rent at modest rates and also SUPs and kayaks for those who wish to go for a paddle around the harbour!

Lasers and a Wayfarer are both kept on the hard, available for use by any experienced member for a modest fee. All loose fittings are in the boat shed, and the Lasers have a choice of rigs available to suit all sizes. Hire of the club RIBS is also possible for experienced users with at least Powerboat Level 2 qualifications. Use of the club boats is subject to “you break it, you fix it”;  “adult supervision required for children” and a nominal fee to cover general maintenance of the boats.
