DMYC joined forces with Dun Laoghaire Rathdown Sports Partnership for “Her Outdoors” – a week of activities aimed at encouraging more women to get involved in outdoor sport.
We offered an opportunity for women to try sailing, on either a keelboat or a dinghy, on Sunday 17 August. This was booked out very quickly. There were fifteen boats for the guests (ten keelboats and five dinghies), with three RIBs providing support and two launches in operation to bring people to and from the keelboats. The weather on the day was perfect, and the 28 women who took part were delighted with the experience – only one mild case of seasickness! Back ashore, our guests were offered food in the clubhouse, and enjoyed the views and the weather on the deck.
